The Only 3 Ways to Grow Your Business by 30% (and Beyond)
By Kristian Thaulow | Submitted On March 30, 2020
I'm a simple guy.
I like lifting heavy weights, Japanese anime, and strategic business growth.
And as much as I like to talk about weightlifting, today, I want to talk about how to grow your business.
I'm always looking for different ways to get the biggest result with the least amount of work.
It's not just me; just look at this quote from Bill Gates:
"I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it." - Bill Gates
Look, business is pretty simple stuff. However, I didn't say it was easy. It still requires a lot of very hard work. So, why not give yourself every possible advantage over your competition?
I'm going to share some numbers and strategies with you that's going to make it crystal clear how to grow your business 10%, 20%, and even 30%.
We'll start with the concept of "deconstruction."
So, what does deconstruction actually mean?
Let's see what the good ol' Cambridge Dictionary tells us:
DECONSTRUCTION: "The act of breaking something down into its separate parts to understand its meaning, especially when this is different from how it was previously understood."
So how are you supposed to use this concept to grow your business?
It's simple:
Try to see if you can guess the answer to the following question before you go on:
In how many ways can you grow your business?
Five different ways?
15?
50 ways?
Here's the kicker: All those guesses are wrong.
In fact, there are ONLY 3 ways to grow any business in any niche - which is the essence of deconstruction. You break down "how to grow a business" into the smallest, individual pieces to create the biggest possible change.
Here's a simple formula - developed and pioneered by the great and esteemed, Jay Abraham - to show you how to use deconstruction to grow your business by over 30%:
# OF CLIENTS x AVERAGE ORDER VALUE (AOV) x # OF ORDERS/YEAR
I not a big fan of math, but this is VERY interesting!
To illustrate this, let's use a simple example to make things crystal clear:
Let's imagine you have 1,000 clients who buy from you two times per year, with an Average Order Value (AOV) of $100:
1,000 clients X $100 AOV X 2 orders /year = $200,000
In this case, you've got a nice and simple $200,000 /year business.
But what if you wanted to grow that business by 10%?
How could you do this easily and effectively within the next 12 months?
Some examples:
- You could increase your AOV by 10% - which is only $10 more per individual sale
- You could increase the number of clients by 10%, which would give you 100 extra clients per year
- Finally, you could increase the purchase frequency (or improve your retention) by 10% - meaning that all your clients only needed to buy 0,2 more times PER year
For this example, let's say you focused all your attention on growing your client base by 10%, and you keep *everything* else the same.
In this case, here's the math:
1,100 X $100 X 2 = $220,000 (10% growth)
Let take it a step further.
What if you wanted to grow your business by 30%?
Again, remember the formula:
# OF CLIENTS X AVERAGE ORDER VALUE (AOV) X # OF ORDERS/YEAR
So, what can you do if you wanted to grow your business by 30%?
Here are some very actionable and strategic examples you can use in your own business:
- Increase AOV by 10% by creating strategic upsells in your funnel - again, in this case, we're talking about $10 more per sale on average
- Grow your client base by 10% by implementing a strategic, and ongoing referral system
- Increase the purchase frequency by 10% by communicating with your clients more frequently for example through email (which is, in my humble but very accurate opinion, the best way to do this)
1,100 X $110 X 2,2 = $266,200
Wow! This is incredible.
Just by doing these small changes, you've now grown your business by MORE than 30%!
You've now grown your business by 33,1%.
This is the power of exponential growth!
And if you feel those numbers are too small and unambitious, just add a zero.
The beauty of this concept is that nothing in the formula changes even if the size of the business changes.
Here's the bottom line:
Instead of stressing about which new social media channel to use, or which new gadget you should invest in, focus on these three areas of your business.
Think about it... if all you did, for the next 12 months, was to focus strategically on how you could increase your AOV by offering your clients more value, do you think you could grow your business by just 10%?
Or, if all you did was to focus on how you could increase how often your clients bought from you... could you increase your purchase frequency by just 10%?
Or, if all you did was to focus on getting just 10% more clients this year... could you do that?
Your biggest growth is ahead of you.
And now you have a very simple, strategic method to take your business to the next level.
If you want to discover how to 2x your sales and get more clients for your business, my free online training session is a great place to start.
You'll learn how to use the old-school principle of "Infotainment" to write emails that people LOVE to read. Including: How to write stories so compelling they immediately draw customers in - even if you're not a professional writer... and much more.

10 Foolproof Ways to Write World-Class Copy
By Kristian Thaulow | Submitted On March 30, 2020
Today, I want to talk about copywriting.
What? You don't know what copywriting is?
Fear not.
Here's my very scientific dissection of the world of copywriting:
"Copywriting is the art of arranging words in a certain order to sell stuff."
So, today, whether you're just starting out or have done copywriting for years, you can still learn something new from what I'd like to show you.
Here are 10 newbie-friendly ways to writing world-class copy:
1) Write stories. The easiest way to write an email that sells your product or service is -- in my humble but accurate opinion -- by writing stories. Time is people's most valuable resource, so don't waste your audience's time by writing boring emails that suck the life and very existence out of people.
2) Write simple stories (in two sentences max). Building on the first point: When writing stories, keep things simple and to the point. If you can't tell the main point of your story in two sentences max, either tell a different story or cut the fat until you get to the meat.
3) Follow the 80/20 copywriting rule. Spend 80% of your time promoting your content, 20% writing it.
4) Read your copy out loud. This is so powerful, yet nobody does this. For example, when I'm writing sales pages, I read *everything* out loud ten times before that sales page sees the light of day. Tedious? Yes. Does it work? Yes.
5) Use Value Inserts. Value Inserts is a concept I developed to "massage" your content to perfection. You look for different places in your post to insert different types of strategic value. For example, humor, story, controversy, etc.
6) Learn to write great bullets. Bullets, also called "fascinations" in the copywriting world, are designed to entice people to buy your product. Here's an example of a bullet I've used on one of my landing pages: "A $2 billion secret: How top businesses craft mouthwatering sales emails that people love to read."
7) Write successful sales letters out by hand. The great copywriter, Gary Halbert, was a big advocate of this. When I started to learn how to write copy, I wrote out a different sales letter *every day* for 90 days (not a typo). This gives a tonne of insight into how to structure an ad, plus how to write copy that pulls people down the page.
8) When in doubt, use curiosity galore. Not sure whether your headline or subject line is any good? Ask yourself: "Does this make me curious enough to read the first line?" If it doesn't, you've got work to do.
9) Break up long sentences. Long sentences make your copy harder to run. Shorter ones make it easier. Need I say more?
10) Use Infotainment to draw people in. This is something I'm a big fan of: Using "Infotainment" to draw people into your content. Infotainment is the art of combining great information with Entertainment. We live in a celebrity-obsessed culture. I mean, it doesn't take a genius to realize that when you consider celebrities like Kim Kardashian is worth $350 million vs. the average university professor who earns around $100,000 /year.
There are dozens if not hundreds of other techniques like this.
So this is by no means an exhaustive list.
But, once you start using the 10 tips here, you will see a significant difference in the quality of your writing.

Your Attitude Will Determine Your Results
By David Wakeman | Submitted On June 18, 2020

What's your attitude about life and business?
I'm out here this morning taking a walk around and noticing how beautiful a day it is, listening to the bird's chirping, feeling the breeze and seeing the blue sky.
And then it brings me back to the thoughts of what's going on in the world right now we have riots going on, we have protests or what they want to call protests going on and then the bickering politicians.
Like a bunch of children that are mad because they aren't getting what they want.
It's crazy and there's nothing we can do about it.
The reason I bring this up is that in life, we have only one thing that we have control over and that is our own internal thoughts our own internal attitude.
And attitude is everything.
You can join the protesters or be like the looters, or the whiny politicians, but where will that get you?
When you trying to accomplish things online, or in your personal life, or in your business life, it doesn't really matter, our attitudes are what makes a difference in whether or not we're going to be successful or not.
If you don't have your head screwed on right and you are thinking, there's no way you can accomplish what you are trying...
guess what, you're right... not because of outside influences, it's because of your attitude.
The things you think about most of the time is what you are going to get.
That's why you need to control you, and what you think.
The way you do this when you are building something new, is to follow the lead of someone who has been where you are today and has achieved what you aspire to accomplish in your life.
You also need to have a vision of where you want to go, a game plan.
You know where you are right now, and you need to know your destination.
What is it you want your life to look like in a year, 5 years and beyond?
So, where is it that you want to go?
How are you going to get there?
Do you have a plan?
Know what tools you need to use?
What methods you're going to use?
If you don't then, you're really in trouble. You are at the starting line, the race has begun and you don't know how to run the race.
There's only 2 ways to go in life and in business. You either go forward or you go backward.
There is no such thing as just maintaining. When go this route you are actually going backwards. Watching everything else move forward while you just hand tight.
Before you know it, life has passed you by.
So, what you need to do is you need to have somebody to follow or work with that has been in your shoes.
A person that you can trust and that can help you go from where you are today to where you want to be.
It doesn't matter if you are just supplement your current monthly income so that you can treat your family with things that you can't do now
Maybe save for a great vacation that you've always wanted to take...
or maybe you want to make enough to replace your income and have some freedom in your life.
Either way, you can take the path that so many newcomers or people that have been around and haven't made any money. The path the losers take.
But if you are serious about what you want to accomplish, then you need to choose the road less traveled.
This is the path where you work with a mentor, someone that has been there, done that and knows how to explain in a commonsense way that you can follow.
The last thing you want, or need is joining a program or a coach that has forgotten what it's like to be at the beginning of the journey. They will only cost you time and money.
This is so so very important... having a mentor is everything.
That's the first thing to need to understand. We all need a mentor, no matter where we are in life.
If it's something you have no experience doing, then without a coach you will spend years trying to master it.
When we were kids growing up, learning how to walk, learning how to ride a bicycle, learning how to play baseball or, soccer our parents were there to help.
If you wanted to play the piano, you needed a coach to learn how to play.
We needed teachers to help us learn how read and write. The list goes on and on and will continue the rest of ours lives.
So why is it so hard to recognize that you need help from a teacher in order to build a business online?
That's what I'm talking about today.
If you are going to be successful online, then you need to find a system, a program, a mentor that you can follow that will help you go from where you are right now, to where you want to be in the shortest period of time possible.
Let me ask you this, when you wake up a year from now, what do you want to see?
Do you want to see another year gone by with nothing to show for it... or do you want to see a new person energized with a spring in your step knowing that you took charge and have total control of your future?
When you have the right attitude you accomplish more and are able to accept direction from others that can help you with lessons they have learned that will take you from not knowing how to start to be a successful marketer online.
Check your attitude in all that you do. Seek out successful methods that you can incorporate into your business.

The Dark Side Of Affiliate Marketing
By Muhammad Akmal | Submitted On January 29, 2013

Affiliate marketing is a wonderful way to earn money from home. It has many good points that make it great but on the realistic side, there are some negative aspects to keep in consideration. Not everything people are telling you could be true. I do not mean to discourage anybody.
1. Some merchants are not stable and may not keep their promises. Or they may delay the commission longer than normal. So it is important to consider only programs that carry good reputation.
2. Some merchants might exaggerate to pay heavy commissions, just to have more and more traffic to their websites and no benefits to the affiliates.
3. Online hackers may steal the affiliates' account and get the money paid to them. In this case, it is advisable to use strong passwords and try other possible security measures available.
4. The merchants may close their business at any point without prior informing the affiliates and not paying their commission.
5. An affiliate does not have any direct control over the policies and plans of the affiliate program.
6. As these programs are free to join. Many people over the globe work with such programs. An affiliate competes with the SEO masters and people with information technology background.
7. Majority of such programs pay per finalized sale. So, even if there is a large traffic going through a publisher's website, still there could be no reward. But this is not true with all the affiliate programs as some of them pay for the traffic they receive from publisher's website.
8.Affiliate programs work as middle men among merchants and web publishers. They charge a big share, both from merchants and affiliates.
Not every play ground is for everybody. Try to narrow down your niche and master over it. Some people are good with fashion, some with art and others with fiction or nonfiction etc.
Having considered all the pros and cons of the affiliate marketing programs, what remains is the hard work and dedication. If publishers keep their websites up-to-date and attract more and more unique visitors; They will earn money anyways. Money keeps coming in and both merchants and publishers win at their place. so lets see if it works. I have a plan to keep writing more, if this article helps you, expect more write ups from my side. Looking forward to hear from you on this article.
I will be updating my Affiliate website links soon.

Free 8 Step Method Rakes In Money On Autopilot - 1 Hour Set Up Time
By Bryan Super | Submitted On December 04, 2011
The Internet is an amazing place and many have turned to the online world in order to supplement and in many cases replace their income. There are so many ways to make money online and that is likely what confuses most people when starting out. For a quick method to build an online business read this entire article carefully.
When people start out online there are so many different methods floating around out there and it is hard to know what works without trying it. What happens to many people is that they start something and then they find something else and ditch the old method and start something new. They never give enough time to the initial method to see if it works or not. This cycle continues day after day and month after month.
The only way to cure this is to focus on ONE method and working that method until it makes a profit. Then you can get into to other methods. The best and fastest way I know of is to build a list of people interested in your niche and then provide them with quality content and related offers that they would have to purchase.
Here are the 8 steps to make this work.
1. Build a squeeze page
2. Get an autoresponder
3. Create a free report to give away
4. Drive targeted traffic to your squeeze page
5. Buy a solo ad
6. Do ad swaps once you have a list
7. Find related offers to send to your list
8. Write emails with content mixed in and place the offer in the email
It is easier said then done, but if you work at it and follow the steps, you should be able to build a list of qualified prospects who would be interested in your emails, your report, and your offers.
Like I said, there are many ways to make money online. It is very easy to get mixed up in building blogs, building AdSense sites, affiliate sites, writing hundreds of articles, pay per click, pay per view, Facebook pages, and the list goes on and on.
If you want to break the cycle and actually build something that will be useful to you, you should look into building an email list.
There are a few up front costs you will have to cover such as hosting and an autoresponder. These are very minimal and you should use them if you plan on running an online business.
Another big thing with this is traffic. You need traffic in order to get people to your squeeze page. Here's a quick traffic tip.
If you don't have a list, create a squeeze page and buy a solo ad. Then once you have a list, contact other marketers and do a list swap. This way you both get new subscribers.

8 Affiliate Marketing Mistakes You'll Want To Avoid
By Jon Allo | Submitted On April 22, 2020

Affiliate marketing is a good way to produce an extra income but only if you are prepared and go about it the right way. Here are some mistakes you'll definitely want to avoid.
1. Choosing the Wrong Products
Any product you choose should offer a solution to a problem that your audience has. First choose who your audience is, then find solutions for them. Doing it the other way around can include the risk that there is not an audience for that product in the first place.
2. Joining Too Many Networks
You can't make good income from affiliate products if you spread yourself too thin. Choose just a couple networks and work directly with some good products and their managers to ensure the best mix of products for your audience's needs.
3. Not Investing in Helpful Resources
There are a lot of very helpful products, services and solutions today that can help make your life easier as an affiliate marketer. Set a budget and invest in your business. You can't make money without spending, but you want to spend it wisely.
4. Not Using Technology to Its Fullest
Email lists, autoresponders, social media, blogs etc... all involve using technology. Seek to learn fully each new piece of tech that you add to your business before adding the next one.
5. Not Looking at Your Competitors
Many times your competitors are doing a lot of things right that you can learn from. If they are successful, you want to look at them. Buy some of their products and sign up for the lists. Make a note of what they're doing right and wrong and make a plan to do even better.
6. Thinking You Don't Need SEO
Search engine optimization is important, no matter what you're doing. You can use it when you are completing a social media profile, a guest blogging bio, and more. It just means that you are considering the search engines (and your audience) in whatever you do, both on and off your website.
7. Not Finding Multiple Streams of Income
You don't want too many products, but on the other hand you don't want to deal with only one. You need to diversify your income stream by adding more than one product. The trick is ensuring that all products fit with your ideal audience.
8. Spending Too Much Time Creating Marketing Collateral
With most products, choose programs that create all the marketing material for you. The reason is that you should not be driving marketing strategy, the company should. If they can't take the time to create marketing materials for you, it's probably not the product you want to promote.

Coupon Codes: Basic to Basics
By Shalini M | Submitted On January 25, 2020
Coupon codes are also known as coupon codes. They are alphanumeric strings that many online retailers use in order to spur on buyers to buy from them. Typically, they are used as a powerful marketing strategy. Aside from this, the discount offered by the code may apply to one or multiple products. In this article, we are going to find out how this marketing tool works. Read on.
How do Coupon Codes Work?
First of all, it's important to note that coupon codes offer a discount to its user. It can be a fixed dollar amount or a percentage of the product price. Aside from this, this marketing medium offers buyers with gift-wrapping or free shipping. Basically, this strategy gives buyers a solid reason to consider buying a product.
If you ask Microsoft, this promotional tool consists of a combination of letters and numbers. Moreover, it has a specific purpose. For example, a marketer may offer a promo code in order to run a holiday campaign for specific products or services.
Why Coupon Codes Work
Once a code is issued by a store, it offers incentives for buyers to make purchases. And the good thing is that it is a win-win deal for both buyers and the seller or business. In other words, customer get their desired product at a discounted price and the store earns revenue.
Another great thing about a promo code is that it can work great for both old and new customers. The reason is that the incentives have a great impact on the shopping experience of buyers, according to the research reports released by the Center for Neuroeconomics Studies at Claremont Graduate University.
According to the research, people feel more happiness when they get coupon than when they get a gift. Apart from this, the study shows that the receivers of these codes experience an increased level of oxytocin. This hormone is behind your feelings of happiness.
Monitoring Marketing Efforts
If you want to track the results of your marketing efforts, coupon codes can be one of the most effective ways. With this tool, you can identify the platforms that generate tons of traffic or results in higher levels of conversions, says Inc. magazine. Let's get a deeper insight into this marketing strategy.
It's easy for marketers to find out the effectiveness of their marketing campaigns. All they need to do is add a specific promo code to their advertisements or campaign. Here it's important to keep in mind that you don't have to go for a different discount offer for different campaigns.
All you need to do is get a new code for each campaign. For instance, you can create codes that are a little bit different. The idea is to create a platform-specific code so that each code is fit for Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms. After all, the right thing should be used for the right purpose or platform.
Why should you assign specific letters or numbers to a specific ad? You can enjoy a lot of benefits if you do so. Actually, these codes encourage a buyer to click on the ad in their email or social media feed. And this will increase their likelihood of clicking on the link. In other words, it will increase the click through rate significantly.
Also, it will allow you to analyze and capture the return on investment of your advertisement on different platforms. Aside from this, if a customer enters the coupon code, it will tell that they found your ad in their email or social media feed. And they will keep checking out your promotional emails for similar offers in the future.
How can you use Coupon Codes?
Once you enter a promo code while you are checking out, you confirm that you accept and follow the terms and conditions of the product promotion. Therefore, if the code offers, say, 20% off the product price, know that it won't work if you don't meet the minimal threshold. Also, you can customize the requirements in order to exclude specific products or brands.
The use of Multiple Codes
Based on your website, you can use more than one coupon codes. It all boils down to your preferences. If you are going to decide as to how many you offer for your customers, make sure you know that the deal will be profitable for you regardless of the number of them you are going to offer. After all, you are doing all this in order to earn profits.
Different types of Coupon Codes
Today, you can find different types of codes offered by different sellers. Although there are many codes to choose from, you will find that three are the most common. Let's find out more about them.
Public Codes: As the name suggests, these codes are open to common people. This means that whoever finds them can use them to buy their desired products at a lower rate. Typically, companies use them to entice fresh customers or spur on existing buyers to get back for more.
Private Codes: Usually, stores make use of private codes in order to target certain type of people. Typically, they are offered to loyal customers to avail specific shopping opportunities like first-time buyers. And the good thing is that this strategy brings in a lot of new buyers.
Restricted Codes: as the name suggests, they are aimed at one user and can't be used more than once. Typically, they are sent to a specific customer as an apology when they are unhappy because of a delayed delivery. They are also sent as a thank-you. For instance, when a buyer makes their 100th purchase on their store, a restricted promotional code is sent to them by the store.
Long story short, this was an introduction to coupon codes and the reasons they are offered by retailers. You can provide all types of them on your site to get the most out of your marketing efforts. Hopefully, you will find this article helpful.

It's a kind of marketing that requires you to generate and share valued, appropriate, and consistent online content, through videos, webinars, blogs, social media posts, and infographics. 3. Provide useful content in exchange for vital statistics: Carry in-depth and appropriate content but don't reveal complete content, if your readers are unwilling to provide their e-mail ids or phone numbers. For this, though, you will have to publish highly engaging and effective content. If your content isn't interesting or useful enough, your readers won't read it further, and not share the data either which you could be seeking for lead generation.
4. Connect with your readers on an emotional level: Trigger your readers' and prospects' emotions, through engaging content, and the right timing. If you manage to do so, they will do what you may want them to do, and respond to your Call to Action (CTA).
5. Get them to speak: Inspire your readers and prospects to like and share your pages, and post comments on them as well. When your targeted groups get involved--through shares, likes and comments--your posts will not only become viral, you will also get useful data. You will learn about their age brackets, social & economic backgrounds, expenditure, etc.

Today, social media influencers are also quite trustworthy in the eyes of their followers. Therefore, you can hire them for your influencer marketing campaigns. The good thing is that you don't have to spend a huge sum of money for these campaigns.
3. Revaluate your Paid Advertising Campaigns
With time, advertising is going through a lot of changes. And this has changed the needs of businesses as well. Today, the advertising trend is to focus on what a product or service can do for the users.
What you need to do is personalize the advertisements by including the features of the products that the users may have a deep interest in. Aside from this, the ads must be straightforward and concise.
4. Consider Personalization
According to statistics, at least 70% customers that buy online have a liking for personalization on blogs and sites. For instance, if a buyer buys something from you, you may send them an email with their name in the email. The good thing is that personalization is not a costly or complicated process. The whole purpose of personalization is to make the buyers realize that you value them.
5. Consider the Visual Search Feature
According to statistics, visual search is also quite effective these days. In simple words, if a user clicks a product photo of their choice, websites, such as Pinterest and Google show the buying options right under the picture of that product. So, the buyers have the liberty to buy the product by clicking the photo.
6. Post Video Content
Video content is quite popular on social media platforms, such as Facebook. If you look at statistics, you will know that 52% of buyers feel more confident when buying products after watching a video. As far as finding out more about a product, at least 68% of buyers like to watch short videos instead of reading long articles, manuals or infographics.
The Takeaway
Although the world of digital marketing seems quite challenging, you can make these campaigns much easier to run if you hire the services of a good online marketer. So, it's better to look for a good professional service provider.

COVID-19 Update: Technology Proves "Game-Changer" for Black Urban Youth
By Stanley G Buford | Submitted On June 01, 2020

The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic has hit inner-city urban kids disproportionately and has led K-12 educators and administrators to direct many elementary and secondary schools to remain closed indefinitely. To ensure children are not deprived of important knowledge, the classes and assessments have been switched to an online format, as the schools aim to remain viable and on schedule. However, America now tackles the issue of a group of students not having reliable access to the internet or computers at home, especially those from African American households.
In this article, we will discuss some key specifics regarding the digital divide plaguing Black children as they try to face the challenge of online classes and homework. We will conclude with an appeal that will benefit a non-profit organization, From Boys to Men Network Foundation, Inc., that has been at the forefront since 1995 to even the playing field. Consider the four monumental points contained herein:
- It has been found that most eighth-graders in America largely depend on the internet to successfully complete their homework. A study by the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), 2018, was assessed by Pew Research Center to reveal that about 58% of students, that is, 6 out of 10 students, have affirmed they use the internet almost daily to assist them with their homework. A meagre 6% of the respondents have claimed they never use the internet for assignment purposes. Needless to say, these trends varied based on the backgrounds of the students, and specifically their community type and their parents' educational qualifications. For instance, among students attending schools in suburbs, about 65% stated they use the internet almost every day for completing their homework. Contrastingly, only 44% of school-goers from towns claimed the same thing. For students attending schools in cities and rural areas, the numbers were 58% and 50%, respectively. It was also found that students with parents who have attended and graduated from college, are more prone to using the internet at home while finishing up their assignments. It was found that among such students, 62% make use of the internet's resources when they stumble across a challenge while completing their homework. Interestingly, only 53% of the students whose parents have some post high-school education use the internet at home at a similar frequency. For those whose parents have only a high school education or no high school education, the numbers plunge to 52% and 48%, respectively.
- Recently, the term "homework gap" is being used to indicate school-goers who lack adequate resources to complete their schoolwork at home. This gap has been observed to be more substantial in the case of Black, Hispanic and economically weak families. Pew Research Center analysis of 2015 U.S. Census Bureau data established that about 15% of Americans who have children who attend school were reported to not have high-speed internet connectivity at home. Understandably, children hailing from families with low incomes are less likely to have strong broadband connections at home. It was found that in households with an annual income of less than $30,000, where children between the ages of 6 and 17 live, about one-third lack good internet connectivity, which amounts to 35%, as opposed to the 6% in the case of households with more than $75,000 income per year. Again, these gaps are more pronounced when these low income households are from Black or Hispanic communities.
- Some children from low-income households have asserted they do not have access to resources required to complete schoolwork at home. In a survey conducted in 2018 by Center, it was noted that one in every five teenagers (about 17%) disclosed that several times they do not get to complete their homework since they either do not possess computers or a stable internet connection. It was found that Blacks and teens from low-income households have more commonly cited this reason for not finishing assignments. To further substantiate this idea, about a quarter of Black teens disclosed that, either frequently or sometimes, they find it impossible to complete their homework due to the lack of internet connection or a computer, as opposed to 13% of white teens and 17% of Hispanic teens. Similar to the previous aspect, teenagers who come from families with an income that is less than $30,000 per annum tackled this issue more (24%) than those with an income of minimum $75,000 every year (9%). The same survey also reported that about one in every ten teens (12%) frequently or sometimes use public Wi-Fi to complete their school-based assignments since they do not possess a stable internet connection. Black and lower-income teenagers are again more likely to resort to these measures. While one in five Black teens had to succumb to these measures (21%), only 11% of white teens and 9% of Hispanic teens also faced the same problem. While 21% of teens coming from households with an annual income of less than $30,000 per year had to use public Wi-Fi to complete their assignments, only 11% of teens living in households with an annual income ranging from $30,000-$74,999, and 7% of teens from households with over $75,000 per annum income reported the same problem.
- Among lower-income teenagers' households, a quarter do not possess a computer. This problem can be observed in every one teenager among four who come from households that earn less than $30,000 per year. Only 4% of households earning more than $75,000 per year do not have a computer, according to the survey conducted in 2018. Variation based on race and ethnicity is observed here as well. Hispanic teenagers are less likely to not have a computer at home, with 18% stating this as a problem, as opposed to 9% of white teens and 11% of black teens.
As mentors representing From Boys To Men Network Foundation, Inc., we are requesting your assistance in order to purchase computer equipment for the purpose of facilitating the e-learning process brought about by the shelter-in-place demands facing deserving school-aged children. Many of our parents do not have the necessary computers, laptops, desktops etc. to facilitate this progression, so we are asking for your support. COVID-19 has devastated the demographic we represent, which has been exacerbated by the fact that technology is almost non-existent in the homes we service. The Impact Of COVID-19 On Search Trends And SEO
cBy Erric Ravi | Submitted On May 14, 2020

For the last two months, the whole SEO community has been talking about the latest COVID-19 pandemic outbreak and its impact on organic traffic and performance. It has been seen that there has been a significant dip in the organic performance of websites across different verticals. And at the same time, there are also many verticals where a notable rise in organic traffic is observed. There are various new Search Engines Results Page (SERP) features that one can see emerging on different search engines such as Google.
With the rising nervousness and uncertainties in the economy due to the COVID-19, there have been drastic effects on different businesses and industries. Many industry experts stated that significant changes in the organic traffic, as well as revenues, were seen from 12th to 16th March 2020.
One of the interesting developments of the pandemic has been that the result page of Google has started stimulating many new panels related to 'coronavirus'. These panels provide users with information and data related to the disease. The content is generally taken from the website of the World Health Organization (WHO), which is the Centre for Disease Control, and many other local government bodies.
Google has also started displaying an 'SOS Alert' panel to indicate a state of emergency across the globe. This is one of the most effective ways to address the COVID-19 emergency online and create a sense of urgency among the users. Another interesting SERP feature is when a user searches for something related to 'coronavirus' the safety tips that need to be followed during this crisis is displayed on Google. These tips showcase a video that instructs the searchers on how to wash hands properly or how to sanitise them along with other tips taken from the WHO website.
Additionally, an 'Affected Area' panel is also displayed, which shows the areas that have been affected by this pandemic on a world map. One can easily see on this map how the pandemic is spreading across the world and its density in different regions of the globe.
Moreover, before other organic results related to the search are displayed, Google also shows a 'symptoms' panel where one can quickly check out the common symptoms of COVID-19. This list of symptoms is also pulled from the WHO website.
How Will Coronavirus Affect The Trends Long-Term?
COVID-19 is being termed as one of the biggest trends in Google's search history. People are not only searching for information related to coronavirus, but national leaders such as Narendra Modi and Donald Trump are also looking at the information related to the stock market.
Long-tail keywords have also started gaining much importance. For instance, Pandemic vs epidemic, are there any test centres in my area, best movies/series to watch in quarantine, is there any shop open, and much more like that!
Such types of searches can put the marketers under a lot of pressure as one needs to be careful and thoughtful while finding the correct target keyword and creating a proper and effective strategy.
It is also possible that search queries related to COVID-19 would continue for a long time along with combination searches such as future banking, how will travelling reopens, future of schools post COVID-19, and much more like that!
How Should Businesses and SEOs Respond at this time?
As the number of people working from home has increased more than ever, a daily commute to work is no longer a necessity. Why Hiring Digital Marketing Services Is More Important Than Ever
By George N Anderson | Submitted On May 21, 2020
Crisis After Crisis
As many around the globe continue to wonder when the COVID-19 crisis will begin to subside, organizations and their brands are also experiencing severe uncertainty and economic challenges.
Natural disasters, political unrest, and disease have been major disruptors over the past few decades. As the world endures crisis after crisis, pressure is mounting on companies to adapt and maintain communication with consumers. Business continuity, product launches, and, of course, employee and consumer well-being must be addressed.
Digital marketing is an essential tool for any organization and especially so in times of crisis. Making an investment in digital marketing services is more important than ever and may very well be the deciding factor in your company's survival.
The Importance of Digital Marketing
As barriers continue to prevent face-to-face business and cancellations of live events and conferences extend into the foreseeable future, organizations must pivot and realign marketing budgets toward content marketing, SEO, and other digital campaigns.
Companies can reach new audiences with a simple website update, or a new social media campaign focused on remote-workers.
Among the many benefits of deploying a digital marketing strategy are:
- It is more cost-effective than traditional advertising.
- It is particularly powerful at building brand awareness.
- Digital marketing strategies, when properly structured, build trust with consumers and, as a result, sales convert at a faster pace.
- Impactful marketing strategy not only benefits the brand and the company, but research-driven digital content can provide benefits to the overall well-being of consumers.
Clients who have only dipped a toe in the digital marketing arena will likely give marketing a go during this crisis. However, it's also likely that they will barely scratch the surface of the endless opportunities that make marketing strategies come alive and drive ROI.
Digital marketing will be viewed solely as a contingency plan by short-sighted firms who are resistant to change and will return to business as usual. But forward-thinking firms will see that it provides long-term value - both in times of crisis and calm - and will incorporate it into their marketing strategy going forward.
As things return to normal - even if it's a new normal as many predict - business plans and strategies will be forever altered. The human impact of this crisis cannot be overstated. However, one critical benefit we are lucky to have during the crisis is the opportunity for connectivity that digital marketing provides.

7 Ideas to Use "Found Time" During COVID-19
By Susan Regier | Submitted On March 27, 2020

It's no longer "business as usual" to say the least. During this COVID-19 pandemic, nothing is as usual.
You may have found yourself working from home - with or without children to care for - or discovering that many of your customers have shut down operations, so you're wondering what to do with this "found time" in your schedule.
This could be an ideal opportunity to tackle those items on your business "to-do" list that you've neglected far too long. Here are 7 ideas to help you take back a bit of control in your business and prepare for when things get back to a new "normal."
1. Check out the competition.
Go online and "creep" your competitors. What are they doing? What new products and services are they offering? What are they saying?
Obviously, you don't want to copy what they're doing or saying - but this can be an ideal time to find out how you can stand apart.
Look at the competition in your area and then see what others are offering in other countries. Then consider what you can do differently or what can you add to your roster that shows you're a leader in your industry.
2. Review your Website and other marketing materials.
Is it time for an update? Often, creating new or updated content for your business is pushed to the backburner as you bring on new customers or work to deepen relationships with existing clients.
Now's the time to read through your Website with fresh eyes - the eyes of your customer - and make sure the message you're sending is the one you want others to read.
For tips for creating conversational content and maximize your impact, check out https://www.susanregier.com/tips.php for more insights.
3. Update all social profiles.
Be sure your profiles share the outcomes that you deliver and don't read like a job-seeking résumé. And be sure your profile is accurate for where you are today. Share your accomplishments. Share your story.
4. Update your presentations.
If you're a speaker or trainer, go through all your presentations and give them an in-depth refresh. Stats change. The way we do everything changes. Make sure your presentations reflect your changing industry.
Look at your talks, your slide decks, and your signage. Would a few small tweaks make a significant impact or are they tired-looking and benefit from a complete overhaul? Note, if you're bored with your presentation, chances are your audience will be as well.
5. Research new prospects.
This can be a great time to research to find new customers. LinkedIn is the ideal platform to find B2B contacts. Please note, this is NOT the time to be selling. If you want to share useful information/insights, then reach out. But creating a list of potential contacts now will make work so much easier when things begin to get back to normal, and you have a ready-to-go list of new connections.
6. Create videos.
You can easily create quality videos using your computer or smartphone. These can be a great way to train customers or staff, offer industry insights and helpful tips, showcase products, or introduce employees to "humanize" your company.
They don't have to be perfect! I always recommend that you check your background to ensure it's not distracting. The focus should be on you and not on all the stuff behind you. That being said, Gary Porter, President of Flash Displays, offered this brilliant suggestion to use your tradeshow display (or part of it, if it's huge) to use as your video backdrop. What a great way to brand your videos! You can then use these videos to send to customers, use on social platforms, Webcasts, etc.
When I create my videos, I like to do several at one sitting and post them over time on a schedule. This makes perfect sense if you're setting up your display once, shoot several videos, and you're done.
Also, Gary mentioned that as many tradeshows have been cancelled, you could still set up your booth and video your display and share your presentation, training, or insights about your company.
7. Reach out to current and past customers.
This is an excellent time to pick up the phone and re-connect to find out how others are dealing with this crisis (again, not to sell). These are extraordinary circumstances, and many people are not dealing well with the forced isolation they find themselves in. Your check-in call could be a lifesaver on many levels.
